The Meaning Behind Gene's Auto Repair

• Gene's Auto Repair was founded in '94. From then on Tracy and the TEAM at Gene's Auto Repair built what you see today.
• Gene’s Auto Repair has built its business on the principles of quality, value, and service to our customers and our team.
• Quality – Providing superior service – for the vehicle and for the customer, less than 110% is inadequate.
• Value – Providing the highest level of satisfaction to the customer, no matter what it takes.

Tracy Renee

President

Tracy has been in the Automotive Industry over 25 years and through her desire to bring a better product to the automotive customer, Gene's Auto Repair was formed in 1994. As a woman owned and run facility, Tracy knew she had her work ahead of her, but through diligence, perseverance and dedication to her customers, Gene's Auto Repair has service the community for over 15 years. While she is very involved in the Automotive Industry, as a member of ASCCA, ASA, CSSARA, ABWA and Vallejo Chamber of Commerce, it’s sometimes hard to understand where she finds the time for anything else. As a wife of 25 years and mother to five, plus assorted animals it's hard to see where she finds the time for business too, but she does. “Weekends are for family, friends and relaxing, while weekdays are for work”, which is were you’ll find her for what seems like 24/7. And when she is not doing family things on the weekends, Tracy attends many different events supporting and effecting the Automotive Industry. In the effort to better her customer and business skills, she even found the time to attend a two year business program through the University of Phoenix which helps her deal with the day-to-day operations of her business. She is a ESI certified service advisor, is AMI accredited in several areas dealing with automotive management, and has attended and continues to attend many educational courses throughout the last 15 years relating to the Automotive Industry, put on by: AMI, Elite and ESI. Tracy's commitment to excellence is shown everyday in her compassion for her customers, their vehicles and all the members of “TEAM” Gene's Auto Repair.

Joe Briggs

Automotive Technician

Joe is a local resident of Vallejo, living here since he was 5 years old and has been in the Automotive Industry since 1990. Joe started his education with Sequoia Institute of Automotive Technology and continues to educate himself through many automotive training courses. He is a Certified ASE Technician as well as a Certified Smog and Diagnostic Technician. Joe joined TEAM Gene's Auto Repair in 2007 and hasn’t looked back since. He brings not only his technical skills to Gene’s, but also the same unwavering desire to customer satisfaction with him that is, the Gene’s Auto Repair philosophy.

Sherry Cances

Customer Service Specialist

Sherry started working for Gene's Auto Repair in 1998 and although she took some time off to further her education and career, she returned to Gene’s in 2008 as a new, stronger employee. Even as a mother of three, Sherry continues to grow and learn about the Automotive Industry by taking as many business courses and seminars as her children and time permit. Her “can do” attitude is the strength Sherry brings to TEAM Gene’s Auto Repair.

Rene Naval

Automotive Technician

Rene attended National Manpower Training School in the Philippines when he was 16 and moved to Vallejo from the Philippines in 1993. He specialized in automotive training and has continued to work in the Automotive Industry for the last 28 years. Since moving to Vallejo 15 years ago, he has continued to educate himself through specialty training courses with top industry leaders and continues to grow his technical expertise daily. Rene is a Certified Smog Technician, is fluent in Tagalog, the proud father of two and has been a member of TEAM Gene's Auto Repair since 2006.

Jose Raya

Automotive Technician

Jose attended Sequoia Institute of Automotive Technology and has been working in the Automotive Industry as a Automotive Technician for over 13 years and has been a resident of Vallejo since 1990. Jose is a Certified Smog Technician and fluent in Spanish. Jose attends educational training and update course throughout the year to continue to grow and learn more about the ever changing Automotive Industry. Jose has been apart of TEAM Gene's Auto Repair since 2007.

Jennifer Thorsted

Administrative Assistant

As a graduate of Sonoma State University in Business, Jennifer has brought a unique skill-set to TEAM Gene's Auto Repair, since 2004. Through her continued involvement in industry education, seminars and the many automotive association (AMI, ASCCA and ESI,) functions she attends, Jennifer is constantly honing her skills in the Automotive Repair Industry. And her take-charge attitude along with her business knowledge makes her a “key player” in the Gene’s Auto Repair Team.

Shop Helper or Entry Level Technician

We are looking for a shop helper or an entry level technician. Duties will include but are not limited to:

• Shop Clean Up
• Shuttle Customers
• Pick Up Parts
• Oil Changes
• Vehicle Inspections

The shop will provide basic hand tools. Must have clean DMV record. The position will start as part time up to 32 hours with a flexible schedule. You should be energetic, willing to get your hands dirty and able to work well on your own.
